1991 Tranny Rebuild
I have completed the rebuild and installed the tranny. A few interesting things were discovered along the way. Go here for a quick description:
1991 Engine Rebuild
The engine is still on the floor waiting for some attention. It burns oil at high rpms so I am going to rebuild with new piston rings and P&P the head while I'm at it. Right now it is a donor engine for the 88 which has almost a quarter million miles on her.
I have to give some credit to the donor: The engine came from Nick in Elgin, IL after he did a ZC swap. The engine only had 90K on it and it was burning pretty bad. I also received two more Si engines with varying needs: Donnie (CivicSi) sold me his old 100K mile 90 Civic Si engine since it had a blown headgasket. And a friend or Frank RaiVai's sold me his 90 Si engine in perfect shape when he did the B16 swap. So now I have three engines on the floor and one still in the CRX. Why would someone need so many engines? Let's just say I plan to play with forced induction. More on that later.

1988 Honda CRX Si
My 88 Si CRX has seen better days. Recently I lost the teeth off the second gear mainshaft due to the unreasonably hard Prothane Engine mount inserts, I do not recommend them for daily driving. Soon I will be developing a turbo set-up from a 95 Eagle Talon Turbo (T-25). This will involve some exhaust manifold welding, fuel enrichment, upgraded ignition system, and better metering. Hopefully I will be able to start making more progress on this by this summer. If you have any suggestions, feel free to e-mail me via the link below.
